Ann Demeulemeester Metal Strand Cape

Can you believe this.......what a fabulous piece of work; such ingenuity! While it's one of the ultimate statement pieces, it bears a certain simplicity. The actual design, reminds me of something from the 60's or 70's. Up to now, I've been swooning over her lace-up sandals and now this; I'll definitely have to add it to my list of favorites. I envision endless styling options, as it will work with tanks, or a "collared" blouse, as long as it's simple. I also see it working with a scoop neck, solid colored dress (you certainly don't want anything too fussy that will "compete" for attention). For fall, it will look great with a cropped leather jacket; one that you won't have to remove. Such an innovative design!

"I Love This Sandal for Evening"

Elle MacPherson certainly has the right idea when it comes to Flats with a gown....the look is very appealing. The thing is, it has to be just the right flat; I find that jeweled sandals are always a perfect choice. A few seasons ago, I purchased a pair of Kate Spade, fuchsia, satin sandals which were adorned with a huge rhinestone dragonfly.....best described as elegant yet whimsical. I wore those sandals with many a dress in a variety of colors. I actually wore them so much, that I had to get rid of them (I literally wore them out!); I hated that because I haven't found anything like them since. They were perfect for a night out on the town and I enjoyed a certain freedom in knowing that I could actually dance all night without aching feet! Prada has stirred up my longing with this pair of detailed lovelies! Great with either style of dress; add sparkling chandelier earrings, a nice statement ring (not too overpowering) and an up do and you're ready!

Alexander Wang: "The Hits Just Keep Coming!"

(netaporter.com)

How gorgeous are these shoes! If I owned them, I would take EVERY possible opportunity to wear them. The beauty is in the fact that they can be worn with virtually every look. Gray has quickly become one of my favorite "go to" colors, due to it's versatility. As I think about it, I can't came up with a single color that won't work with those fabulous gray shoes; that includes all of those glorious prints. And the black.....just when I thought fringe detail was on it's way out, I see that that's not true. What better to wear with leggings, skinny jeans or a funky dress.....I certainly wouldn't want to cover them up with anything! Alexander Wang can do no wrong!

"The Dazzling Diva"

Legendary singer and style icon, Diana Ross is one of my "favorite ladies." As the pictures here attest, she's just as lovely as she is stylish. Her chic fashions certainly elicit a little "closet envy." I wonder if has a special room in her home filled with all of the fabulous pieces that she's worn over the years. If so, I'm sure that there's a fascinating story associated with each. She always lends a certain "flourish" to anything that she wears, making it instantly appealing. I would love to get my hands on an outfit like the one in picture two......notice the sandals, there are several versions available this season. And that silver sequined dress.......talk about a thing of beauty! I'm sure that I've seen a version of the dress in picture six, I just can't remember the designer. Ever the "entrance maker," she remains.

A little Net-A-Porter "History"

Natalie Massenet, the Founder of Net-A-Porter is featured in the current issue of Vogue U.S. The article states that she just recently sold her shares in the company to The Richemont Luxury Group, who owns Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels, Chloe and Dunhill. She received $76 million which is a hell of a return on an initial investment of $1.2 million! While many a businessman gave a gloomy prediction, Natalie managed to turn her E-commerce idea into one of the most successful businesses to date. The Net-A-Porter offices are situated in Shepard's Bush, Europe's biggest Mall. Natalie and her staff of 300, have a birds-eye-view of every purchase made, via Google Earth. Every time someone makes a purchase, a Net-A-Porter bag pops up on a screen and displays the shopper's order, including how much was spent, where the person lives and a tally of the day's takings. Now that's innovation! While many an E-commerce venture has floundered, Net-A-Porter has remained strong over the last ten years. How exciting she and her colleagues (twelve who started with her initially, are also millionaires as a result of the sale) must be to see their idea reach fruition. I can imagine that Natalie probably doesn't sleep much nights, as I'm sure her mind is constantly churning out new ideas for her more than successful venture. Wouldn't you love to be a part of something so wonderful!? I'm happy to know more about one of my favorite sites.
