Fashion Photography: Sascha Mazzucco

At just 16 years old, Sascha Mazzucco is already showing promise as a fashion photographer. And why wouldn’t he—it’s in his blood.

His father, Raphael, is one of the world’s most sought-after and respected photographers, best known for his Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue covers and spreads. And mother Lisa-Marie is a classical-music photographer, as well as a former model and makeup artist.

Though it seems only natural that the Montauk teen would pick up a camera and follow suit, music was his first passion (he plays rhythm guitar in an East Hampton-based rock band called Renegade). It took an off-the-cuff photo shoot at his home a year and a half ago to ignite a flame he didn’t know existed. Now he’s shooting look books for clothing store Blue&Cream and flying to Kenya to snap location photos for the new Shompole Lodge brochure.

Whereas his peers might crack under such enormous pressure, Sascha takes it all in stride. Instead of spending hours agonizing over the composition of each shot, he prefers a simple point-and-shoot approach. The result? A raw beauty that’s especially evident in the portraits taken around Montauk on the following pages, captured with a simple click of the shutter. Look for more of Montauk’s majestic beauty in next week’s issue of Hamptons.

Beautiful work....I'd say he's well on his way to a successful photography career!

"Vibrant Petals"

These "artistic renderings" from NOIR, certainly capture the attention...I personally couldn't choose between the two, so I'd have to get both! With a price tag of $328 (nordstrom.com), I would consider them a worthwhile investment, as both are suited for wear year round, as well jazzing up a variety of looks.

"Sex Kitten"

Christian Louboutin (elle.com) This has to be one of the most fabulous of shoes for the upcoming season! They are at once, feminine, sexy and chic. I envision the likes of Marilyn Monroe or Dorothy Dandridge "slinking" about in an equally sexy dress or stunning, fur-trimmed lounge wear. If I owned a pair, when not wearing them (that would be as often as possible), I would have them prominently displayed as one would a decorative piece. They are after all, "that shoe!"

"On With the New"

Without ELLE’s assistants and assistant editors, all would be lost—literally. As the gatekeepers for every microtrend that races through our fashion closets—and our pages—they know how to spot a fashion moment almost before it happens. Here, they spill the goods on their favorite new designers. On the sexy side, there’s London darling David Koma’s tough minis and sculptural leather jackets; Victoria Beckham’s line of sensual power dresses; and Marcella Lindeberg’s French rock-star-wear debut, Paris68. For casual cool, try Carven’s affordable duffel coats, snag a cute plaid button-down from Caulfield Preparatory, or accessorize designer Erin Kleinberg’s soft minishorts and tees with Manhattanbased Ayaka Nishi’s nature-inspired baubles. Now that our rising stars have shared their secrets, all that’s left to do is shop!
