Scandinvian label J. Lindeberg stays true to its roots, basing their Autumn/Winter 2010 collection on the idea of immaculately dressed explorers in the midst of their adventures in the highest mountains, remote landscapes and solitary wilderness, in attempt to create garments that are elegant, cut for functionality.
In contrasting spirits, moods, colours and fabrics, Artistic Director, Pierangelo D’Agostin had hoped to recreate 'the urban speed of life versus the serenity and tranquillity of nature'. The references to functional workwear harking back to a time where clothes were long lasting are developed with technical fabric mixes and advanced construction methods. J. Lindeberg have combined formal silhouettes for utility outerwear with padded herringbone down blazer combining classic tailoring characteristics with modernity.
Deep and intense colours from icy blues to dark purples and matte grey are contrasted against vibrant autumnal hues, on work wear-inspired shirting layered over one another whilst boiled and heavy knitwear are worn under blazers with new cropped proportions. For accessories, mountainous materials such as onyx, jade and quartz are used on bracelets, whilst vintage patterned scarves, ties and bowties are weaved in blends of Italian cashmere, wool and silk.
