"Rising Stars" in Fashion are Making Their Mark

The spring shows included offerings from designers classified by ELLE magazine as "Rising Stars".

The name of their label is "DAUGHTERS" which was launched last year. Their line boasts ultra-tailored shirting and a pared-down English-gent look. From left to right: a look from their Spring line, the designers Swaim and Christina Hutson with their daughter Lowe.

Californian Scott Sternberg designs under the label "BOY BAND OF OUTSIDERS". It is said that he has generated a devoted following of hot starlets with his quirky Wasp-meets-French-chic clothes. Kirsten Dunst is seen here wearing a look from his Spring collection.

Catherine Holstein-what started as a small, eclectic collection has developed into an insider label stocked in only the best boutiques from New York to LA. featured right is one of the looks from her spring collections

Certainly not to be forgotten is Jason Wu. I can only imagine that he is really on the "rise" after First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of his beautiful gowns for the Inaugural Ball. It is said that his two-year label is starting a feminine revolution with demure yest vibrant confections. Pictured left is look from his Spring collection.

I imagine that we are all familiar with designer Devi Kroell. Best know for her exotic-skinned boots and accessories and a collection that she did for TARGET. Reports state that she made a splash during fashion week with her austere ready-to-wear collection. Pictured right in one of the looks.
Last and certainly not least is, Sophie Theallet-the Azzedine Alaia alum sent heat waves through New York with her first American runway show for spring. It is said that the collection was full of bold bohemian shapes and colors. If the dress featured right is any indication of what we can expect from here, she will definitely be one to follow, as will the rest.
