The June Ambrose Collection

As one of the most stylish of stylists, I'm so excited to see this collection from June Ambrose! My only question is....what took so long! It's my hope that this start with HSN will serve as the jump off point for bigger and better things. If the featured shoe is any indication, I'm sure that we'll see much more from the ever chic June!

When it comes to fashion, few visionaries understand New York style quite like June Ambrose. She's a celebrity stylist, costume designer, author, and now, footwear designer. The driving force behind the Mod Squad Agency, which styles the likes of Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and Kim Cattrall, Ambrose has partnered with the Home Shopping Network and Theme Footwear to create a sexy, stylish line of spring footwear that will have you dancing your way through the concrete jungle.

Featuring sandals, pumps, and wedges, the June Ambrose Collection for Theme Footwear launches on HSN March 22 during the network's spring fashion event. Shoes in the collection boast timeless trends like animal prints, suede, lace, neon, and lucite, as well as Ambrose’s signature mix of textures and prints. The collection is also inspired by the idea of bringing disco glamour to daytime living—at whatever level of "on the edge" you're comfortable with. Ambrose cites 1970s nightclub Studio 54 and the glamour of Cher, Bianca Jagger, and Grace Jones as her muses. So don't be afraid to dance across those sidewalks. (Gotham Magazine)

Iris Strikes Again!

Once again, my favorite style icon has hit the "design trail!" You gotta love her!

91-year-old fashion maverick Iris Apfel has collaborated with HSN on a shoe collection. The Rara Avis collection, which means "rare bird" in Latin, consists of five styles, all of which are reasonably priced. Go Iris! They'll be available form HSN's website in February.

HSN Unveils Shop by Remote Apps

HSN continues to devise new methods to drive sales.

Just a few months after launching its first iPhone app, the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based shopping network announced Wednesday a partnership with Comcast Corp. on a Shop by Remote application, which allows Comcast customers to make purchases from HSN using their television remote controls.

“As we enter the height of the holiday shopping season, HSN is thrilled to be working with an industry leader such as Comcast to provide millions more viewers a fast and easier way to shop from home,” said Peter Ruben, EVP of affiliate marketing and sales at HSN, in a statement.

The interactive application is being offered to the more than 8 million Comcast users for products that range from apparel and footwear to home products and electronics. Shoppers can select the quality, color and sizes of objects using their remote. And the average transaction time is estimated to be less than 60 seconds.

And on the following day, HSN also announced it also would launch a Shop by Remote widget for all Verizon Fios customers. The application will be located in Fios TV's Widget Bazaar marketplace and will feature product detals for on-air items, as well as daily specials and the last 15 items aired. (WWD)

HSN is certainly gaining "name status" as well as staying competitive in the retail marketplace.

Naeem Kahn for HSN

Naeem Kahn joins wife Ranjana as one of the many designers "migrating" to HSN. Read more below.

So much for television shopping still carrying a stigma. Having partnered with HSN to create his first in a series of capsule collections, designer Naeem Khan has sold out each and every party-ready look from his holiday line in 10 minutes. The high-fashion designer, who typically caters to celebrities and couture-hoarding ladies with deep pockets to match, sold the ten styles that made up his HSN collection called "Timeless" shortly after they debuted on the network October 29. While the frenzy itself over Khan's designs (including a sequined mini-dress and tuxedo jacket) is worth noting, the truly surprising part of the sale is that the clothes were by no means cheap.

With dresses retailing around $500, the fact that some sold out in three minutes just goes to show that high-fashion designers doing diffusion lines has lost none of its appeal. And that goes for TV too. But Khan’s goods for HSN are not all gone: “several pieces remain available online, as a certain number of items are reserved exclusively for e-commerce sales,” says Fashion Week Daily. And, there will be more HSN frocks to come from Khan; he’ll do a second collection for HSN that he’s promised will include even more items. “‘HSN’ and ‘QVC’ have emerged as industry buzzwords, signifying a serious influx of cash for participating designers and a potential new revenue stream for those in need,” adds FWD. So don’t be surprised if shopping networks start to attract more and more designers with credible levels of cachet.

Twinkle! Twinkle!

Actually, they don't have to sparkle to be beautiful.....I just love the pieces that make a statement. The fact that they have a "vintage-look" makes them all the more appealing.

Fiona Paxton Jewelry

What do you get when you fuse Indian embroidery with the music and street culture of London? It would look a lot like Fiona Paxton's eponymous line. Paxton, who spent 15 years designing prints and embroideries for such luminaries as Chloé and Moschino, was inspired by the ancient embroidery techniques of India; her own passion for patterns, graphics, and color; and the creative spirit of East London, creating what she calls "fluid necklaces that drape to the body, languid and snake-like." (shopbop.com) I have been a fan of Fiona Paxton's lovelies ever since I saw them on HSN (Home Shopping Network). Her pieces are truly "fluid" works of art.
