Vanguard New York jeweler, Alexis Bittar, is set to design an exclusive jewelry collection for Jason Wu's Spring/Summer show, debuting on the runway this Friday.
Bittar, who cemented a following in both, the mercurial fashion crowd, and with the consumer public, collaborated with Wu on a collection that heralds strengths specific to both designers.
For Bittar, the pieces are bold, graphic, and immediately gratifying in the sense that they deliver an on-the-spot design everyone is in the mood to wear. For Wu's part, rich textures and finishes betray a seamless mix of polish and cool-girl verve that underlies much of the young designer's genius.
In Wu's description, the aim of the collaboration is to "create movement with metal. The collection was inspired by the simplicity of the 70's but has the texture of crumpled paper."
The oversized, sinuously contoured cuffs and rings, are finished in a luxe matte black and, as with all Alexis Bittar pieces, crafted entirely by hand in his Brooklyn workshop.

Looking at the sketches, this collaboration should prove to be unmatched. I'm lovin the rings in picture two and look forward to viewing the completed collection!
The sketches and glimpses we see from the design process are so very interesting - thanks for sharing this.
