"She can do anything; she's a true artist," says director Michael Mann of Marion Cotillard, photographed here in a Dolce & Gabbana long-sleeved lace dress and a dusty-rose silk slip.

Pale Fire

Depth of Focus
"All Marion's channels are open," says theater director Marianne Groves. The actress, in a Louis Vuitton dress with paint-print silk bustier and plaid cashmere-and-wool full skirt. Stella McCartney midnight-blue bra with dot trim. Dior Timepieces watch.

Open Country
"She didn't want to protect herself," says director Dennis Berry. "She took all the risks, with this incredible, active emotional openness." Nina Ricci pale-pink satin dress.

Sharp Shooter
"The most magical thing about who Marion plays is just to sit there and watch the mystery of the character unfold," says Christopher Nolan, who directs Cotillard in the upcoming film, Inception. Nina Ricci fuchsia silk-and-slate flannel ruched dress and rosette-bouquet silk-chiffon cummerbund. Vera Wang sunglasses.

Garden Varieties
"As a teenager, I didn't want to be me; I wanted to be many different people," says the Oscar-winning actress. Pret-à-Surf salt-and-pepper gingham vintage-style bikini. Magaschoni plum cashmere cardigan. Céline calfskin shopper.

The Observer
"It's pretty refreshing to be in a situation where the spotlight is on someone else," Cotillard says of performing with Yodelice. Nina Ricci champagne-pink silk-and-tulle top and dove-gray silk pencil skirt with fishtail. Victoria's Secret lace bra.

French beauty Marion Cotillard is a stunning vision as she wears some of the seasons most decadent pieces. The fitted dress, with bow detail in picture three is It attests to the fact that a dress doesn't have to show all of one's "goods," to exude sensuality. The looks in pictures five, six and seven are also favorites.....oh those details! Photographing her, with what appears to be a vintage camera is a nice touch; that "I was on my way somewhere, and saw something so beautiful, that I just had to get a picture" look. Spectacular!
