Bronze, gunmetal gray, rose-gold and even cool purple hues headlined as the new metallics for spring. Alexander McQueen’s extreme, carved serpentine platforms in iridescent pastels set a new tone for cutting-edge colorways and silhouettes, while Christian Louboutin’s blue, scale-like plated pumps and Nicholas Kirkwood’s sueded treatment also hinted at a new direction for high-shine. (WWD)
I am a HUGE fan of metallics!I have a silver metallic motorcycle jacket that I actually bought about three or four years ago, but it is one of those timeless styles that always looks fresh and new. I have sequined flats, but don't own any metallic shoes.....I'm going to rectify that. I'm loving the LD Tuttle "sling bootie," as well as Alexander McQueen's carved shoe....that one I certainly could not stand up in, but they would look great just sitting out as decorative pieces.
