"Swarovski Art"

Come December 1st and the art-loving crowd of Miami will get to see some of the most unique designs at Design Miami. This year, visitors to this exhibition in the city's Design District, will be greeted with a unique display at the very entrance. American architect, Greg Lynn has designed an installation out of carbon and 1.5 million crystals for the ongoing Swarovski Crystal Palace project that will be displayed at the entrance at Design Miami. The seven meter high structure has been built by Lynn using carbon-compressing technologies from the sailing and ship-building industries. More than a hundred thousand meters of carbon and aramid fibers give the structure its main colors (black, gold and crimson), while the 1.5 million crystals, set in between the fibers, add sparkle in aquamarine, pink, red, peach and blue.
The entire structure is made from lightweight, crystal-encrusted panel sails (even the biggest of the panels, with a surface of more than 50 square meters, can be folded and packed into the trunk of a car.) that are just one millimeter thick. The transparent 'wonder panels' were assembled by robots at a sails factory.

A unique structure, it promises to bedazzle one and all. (Luxury Launches)
