The 25 most powerful names in British fashion

Who are the 25 most influential people working in British Fashion today?

The British Fashion Council's press committee has compiled ‘The Power List’ to let you know and to mark the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week.

Two of the world’s best-known models – and best friends – Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, make the grade, together with the designers John Galliano, Christopher Bailey, Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Dame Vivienne Westwood and Sir Paul Smith.

The big retail tycoons, Sir Philip Green, and Sir Stuart Rose, are there, too, along with Harold Tillman, currently chairman of the British Fashion Council, and Joan Burstein, the founder of Browns, South Molton Street.

For the full list, in alphabetical order, see below. (Because the list was compiled by the BFC’s press committee, no press have been included).

London Fashion Week’s 25th anniversary celebrations conclude tonight with the British Fashion Awards gala at the Royal Courts of Justice in The Strand. The fashion “Oscars” to be announced at tonight’s ceremony include the Designer of the Year and the Model of the Year.
