Ellery Does Denim

Ellery is just one of the go-to labels for many an editor and "street style star." Having perfected the bell-sleeve and bell bottom like no other, a foray into denim is a natural progression.

Kym Ellery's namesake Australian label is a favorite amongst the fashion crowd. So beloved are her signature bell sleeves and flares that not a day goes by during fashion month when you can't spot one of her pieces on the street. Not to mention her unique skirt shapes and floor-dusting coats, which have sky rocketed the designer into cult-like status.

Today, in concurrence with her fall/winter 2016 show in Paris, Ellery is launching her first, five-piece denim collection. In keeping with her traditional silhouette, the shapes revolve around the flare, ranging from dramatic to slim. "Denim is such an important part of any wardrobe; we wanted to introduce the denim as an elevated but still casual part of the collection," says Ellery. "We wanted our first collection of denim to embrace not only the ELLERY signature silhouettes but also some classic styles. We want each shape to be essential in every woman's wardrobe." Each style is finished in stiffer denim (the Ellery girl likes shape, after all, and made with Japanese and Turkish denim. "The Ellery girl's wardrobe is often an elevated one. The collection always uses high quality fabrics with traditional finishings. Each piece has detailed top stitching and is finished with real gold- plated, Swiss made hardware. We chose stiff denim with minimal elastase to give the jeans bold and long-lasting shapes. We want our ELLERY denim pieces to be in your wardrobe for many years to come."
