Modern Pearls

A delicate pearl suspended from a "whisper" of a gold chain, gently skimming the neck, or an understated stud grazing the ear lobe, is at once chic and timeless. Designers and the like are creating "modernized" styles for "today's woman."

Read on for more about this classic gem, as the editors at the Daily Telegraph U.K. share ideas on how to wear the various oferrings of this elegant accessory.

Banish the thoughts of girls in pearls; the humble stone is having a comeback, but this times it's clean and simple.

Pearls are having a comeback. The, how shall we put it... more 'ordinary' woman' has grappled them back from the Sloanes and repurposed them for her modern wardrobe.

Avoid fussy and over-the-top designs in favour of simplicity and sleekness. Team with rose or yellow gold for the cleanest ways to sport them with - silver can look dated. Looking for inspiration? Here are our picks to make you a Pearly Queen.
 RINGS
Single or double pearls on gold bands are the on-trend way to wear them. Stack them up, or wear multiple rings across your fingers, just keep nail varnish to a minimum.

Reinventing the Pearl

Synonymous with luxury and elegance, the pearl has long been held as one of  the "go-to" gems for the well-heeled woman. This is what one famous lady had to say about them.

"Pearls are always appropriate."- Jackie Kennedy.

While a a string of pearls is still classic fare, designers of late are reviving them in the most stylish ways. It started with Chanel's over-sized choker, bracelets, and rings which have been worn by many a celebrity and "street style star." I've featured some of the latest designs, as shared by Vogue Mexico.
