The Coach Duffle Bag

The Coach Duffle bag, which was designed in the 1970s by Bonnie Cashin, is just the sort of no-logo, no-hardware, no-nonsense bag that no one is making anymore. Not even Coach, which saw fit to put this workhorse out to pasture in 1997. But starting June 15, Net-a-Porter is bringing back the Duffle, as well as four other seminal styles from that era, as the Coach Classics collection. Fans of the original will notice only one minor adjustment: an ad for Neiman Marcus in The Dallas Morning News from the ’70s listed the Duffle for $36. This summer it will set you back $398.

"Coach.....Beyond the Usual"

Coach is presenting a new collection of "Cashin and Carry" bags and accessories inspired by designer Bonnie Cashin (1908-2000). She was a designer of ready to wear clothing and launched an accessories division for Coach in 1962. Coach is revitalizing some of her vintage design elements to create a new collection of bags for the Spring season. I love these bags! The illustrations and accents give off a "vintage vibe". The top bag is a vintage bag from one of her past collections.
