What to Buy and What to Avoid?

So says the Daily Telegraph U.K. The fashion editors give their take on what's in and what's out for the new season. This is what they shared:


Make sure you snap something up that's going to see you right through 2015. with our tips on the hottest shapes and fabric to invest in.

Statement bows ruled the catwalks for spring, be they atop models' heads at Sibling or tied around waists at Burberry (pictured). Best of all, this is a trend that lends itself to DIY.


My choice? Pearls 

Romantic, broderie anglaise is the ultimate alternative to crisp white cottons, as demonstrated at Valentino. Chances are, you might already have some lurking at the back of your wardrobe.

Opt for suede over leather. Set to be summer's key fabric, look for dark colours to disguise signs of wear.

Make denim your wardrobe denominator. Denim was used on so much more than jeans at the shows, such as flowing shirts and skirts at Stella McCartney.

Where bags are concerned, go for a bucket. Hip-level bags that fasten with a drawstring are fashion's latest love affair.

Embrace brocade over neoprene. The rich and textured fabric of choice is set to be brocade. Dries Van Noten effortlessly demonstrated just how flattering and camera-friendly it is.

Favor flares over skinnies. Gently kick-flared trousers are finding favor on the catwalks (such as Tom Ford, pictured) and are far kinder on short limbs.
