For Jimmy Choo's stiletto-lovers this will be a true cult object: it’s Jimmy Choo XV, a book to be released shortly by Rizzoli illustrating step by step the history of the label founded by Tamara Mellon.
Fifteen iconic shoes depicting fifteen years of style first in women's, and then in men’s footwear: this is the concept behind the book that will be on sale at first only in Jimmy Choo’s boutiques worldwide and, starting from February 2012, also in bookstores.
The photographs, the true core of the publication, were shot by the greatest fashion photographers in the world: from Mario Testino to Terry Richardson, in this decade and a half they have photographed Tamara Mellon’s sensuous, elegant and captivating creations.
The book comprises eight chapters that illustrate the different nuances of the brand: from the celebrities who have contributed to the creation of its success, like Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, to the reflections on the use of animal printing and the undeniable power of the stiletto that has conquered also Heads of State and crowned heads. The book also has a charitable aim: 1% of proceedings will go to the Jimmy Choo Foundation.
