What do you get when you fuse Indian embroidery with the music and street culture of London? It would look a lot like Fiona Paxton's eponymous line. Paxton, who spent 15 years designing prints and embroideries for such luminaries as Chloé and Moschino, was inspired by the ancient embroidery techniques of India; her own passion for patterns, graphics, and color; and the creative spirit of East London, creating what she calls "fluid necklaces that drape to the body, languid and snake-like." (shopbop.com) I have been a fan of Fiona Paxton's lovelies ever since I saw them on HSN (Home Shopping Network). Her pieces are truly "fluid" works of art.
